Dr. John Stackhouse and Sarah-Jane Britton have filed an affidavit seeking to demonstrate that Crandall University orchestrated a fundamentally flawed investigation in 2023. The affidavit and supporting evidence raise legitimate questions about the independence and reliability of the alleged findings being relied upon by Crandall.
As outlined in sworn legal documents filed with the Court of King’s Bench, Dr. Stackhouse and Ms. Britton take the position that the investigation was neither independent nor fair, including, but not limited to, the following reasons:
- Crandall’s president, Dr. Bruce Fawcett, directly influenced the investigation through over 90 communications with the investigator—including editing the final report and cowriting its summary.
- The investigator more than once considered closing the investigation due to lack of evidence.
- Crandall never informed Dr. Stackhouse of specific allegations against him during the investigation—even after placing him on leave, even when being interviewed by the investigator.
- Email records reveal that Dr. Fawcett organized news media interviews during the investigation, sought and interviewed biased witnesses, and coordinated with other leaders at Crandall to strategically appear impartial.
Dr. Stackhouse and Ms. Britton continue to remain open to good-faith efforts to resolve this matter amicably.
